About me I have been passionate about travel and tourism since I was a teenager, looking up to my elder brother who works in the tourism industry. To me, working in tourism is to have an opening window to the outside world and to become a cultural ambassador, helping foreign visitors to know about Bhutan.

Therefore, I started my career in tourism for almost decade soon after obtaining the National Certificate Level 2 in Cultural Tourist Guide. Since then, I enjoy my every day working in tourism, first as a travel consultant then as a tour guide.

Over the past few years, I have accumulated extensive knowledge regarding sights of Bhutan, and I am honored to receive positive feedbacks from many tourists. Although determined to further advance my profession, it requires more than rich experience in Bhutan’s tourism.

To take one step forward, I am in the need of filling knowledge gaps on subjects like Entrepreneurship and Internet Marketing. To do further education to improve myself, I have completed Diploma in Tourism Management at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Klesshem, Salzburg, Austria in 2022.

I just returned from a 7D6N trip to Bhutan, and it was one of the most remarkable trips I’ve had. First and foremost, I would like to thank Sangay Dorji, who helped with the arrangements and itinerary prior to my travel. His replies were always quick and helpful, and made it very easy for planning.

What made the trip really memorable was having Nim Tshering as my guide. On arrival in Bhutan, I was greeted very warmly by Nim and my driver, Ugyen. From there, it only got better. Nim listened well, planned and made travel arrangements thinking ahead, with convenience and efficiency in mind. More importantly, Nim’s exemplary knowledge of Bhutan, matched with his energy, enthusiasm and humour, allowed me get a lot more from Bhutan than merely traveling through it and seeing sights. I also wouldn’t have successfully gotten up to the Tiger's Nest monastery without Nim encouraging me every step of the way.

Bhutan has so much to offer. A spiritual haven. Rich history and culture. Breathtaking scenery. Beautiful temples and Dzongs. Environmental mindfulness. And most importantly, peace, contentment and HAPPINESS! I’m very honoured to be able to experience this magical journey. Thank you, Druk Asia…

Hello Sonam

Sorry for late response as I have been travelling in Nepal.Thank you very much for your help and quick responses to all my questions before my trip. You have been most helpful and my guide Nim also told me you enquired about my travels during my time in Bhutan particularly with the snowfall going over the pass. Thank you for your concern.

It was a wonderful trip.

Nim, my guide, is an outstanding guide. He is very knowledgeable and gave me lots of information as well as ensuring I had everything I needed.

Due to weather circumstances, our itinerary changed slightly and Nim was very good at making changes to ensure I got to see as much as I could during the short time I had.

Nim went above and beyond to ensure I had a great trip particularly trekking to tigers nest monastery where he helped me through some icy slippery parts of the trail. Without him helping me I am sure I would have slipped over for sure!

Nim is an excellent representative for your company. My driver, I could never pronounce his name, so we decided on King, was an excellent driver particularly taking care driving over the pass in the icy conditions.

I cannot speak highly enough of the tour, my guide and driver.

My trip to Bhutan will be a memory that will stay with me forever.

The amazing scenery of the snow capped Himalayas, the experience of driving over Dochula Pass while it was snowing, touring the fortresses and stupas, hiking to see Tigers Nest monastery and listening to the monks chanting are some of my highlights of the tour.

Not forgetting though the people of Bhutan, who are always so obliging always with a smile on their faces.

I feel I now have had a small sample of Bhutan and it's culture and customs.

Absolutely wonderful experience!

Thank you

Thank you Druk Asia for such an enjoyable and memorable trip. Right from the booking enquires and throughout my trip everyone was obliging and professional. Special thanks to my guide Nim who was outstanding, particularly keeping me upright trekking through the ice to see Tigers Nest monastery! He is an outstanding representative for this company.
I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Hello Mr. Sangay Dorji,

Kuzuzangpo la!

Definitely we would like to share with you our feelings and some feedback for our guide Nim and driver Penjor:

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Bhutan. On a scale of 0 to 10, we would like to give a rating of 11. This trip has exceeded our expectation in all aspects. The transportation vehicle is very comfortable, clean and almost brand new. Penjor's driving skill is one of the best that we have seen. The route is well designed. Nim is very flexible to accommodate our requests. He speaks excellent English, which makes our communication so easy. He has deep knowledge about the sites, history, politics and culture of Bhutan as well as Buddhism. We learnt a lot from his sharing. Nim is very open minded. We loved the exchanges we had. Those were very inspiring and insightful. He also has a very good sense of humor. We had many laughters together during the trip. Most importantly, both Nim and Penjor are so kind to us: they helped us to wear Kira; they offered to help us with our bags when hiking to the tiger's nest; they brought us to an archery field and let us try this national sport; they taught us to dance, to speak DZong Kha... at the end of our trip, we considered Nim and Penjor much more than our tour guide and driver, we considered them as our dear friends. Nim and Penjor have made our trip to Bhutan a truly unique and unforgettable experience. We would like to provide this excellent feedback for Nim and Penjor in order to recognize their outstanding service.

Thank you so much for your kind hosting! We will recommend this trip to my friends without any hesitation. We would love to come back to Bhutan for the second time!

Mr. Sangay Dorji, we also greatly appreciate your time and efforts to organize this wonderful trip! The correspondence went very smoothly, and your feedback was always on time. All these good preparations made this trip a true life-time experience. We would definitely contact you again once we plan the return trip in the future! Kadrin chhey!!

Best Regards,

Olina, Xinyue and Dingyi

Thanks so much for all the arrangement in this trip.

Nim, a knowledgeable tour guide did his job very well during the trip. He did a very well history-telling and we did really enjoy and understand more about the places, culture, monastery, etc. Karma, a very skillful driver who drives steady all along the trip. He is a funny and helpful guy. Because of them, our journey became more meaningful and full of joy. I am not a good hiker and most of the time when I did my trekking/hiking, I was slow and easily to get tired. But Nim and Karma encouraged me do not give up, advised me to walk slowly and steady, and always stay behind me to protect me (in case I am not stable) and in front of me to guide me how to move on. The second day I was in Bhutan, we did a simple trekking to Cheri Monastery and after the trek, i suffered from muscle pain. (I know I am weak, haha.) Nim and Karma bought me the Omnigel spray to relief my muscle pain. I was quite touching as I didn't mention I want to have any medicine/spray but they got it for me! And so after for the trekking to Tiger's Nest, both of them encouraged me do not give up and walked step by step to reach the destination... And we did it!! Yeah~

I really love Bhutan as it is a unique country. I travelled to Norway for northern lights in October 2016. That was my last trip before Bhutan. And this February 2017, I was paying a visit to Bhutan. Most of the friends were asking me about the trip and I did recommended Druk Asia and you to them. They get a very surprising face when I mentioned I love Bhutan rather than Norway! Most important reason for me to choose Bhutan is because the "people" over there. They gave me a unique feeling that they live happily, they have a simple yet meaningful lives and they cherish/appreciate for what they have. They love their King and Queen as I saw the portraits of The King and Queen in everywhere!

Overall, it is an amazing and unforgettable trip in my lifetime!

Kadrin Chhey, to you Sonam, to the tour guide Nim, to the driver Karma and to the ones I met in Bhutan, no matter the other travelers or local people :)

我还会再回去!

Hi,

I had a wonderful time on the trip! Probably it was one of the best trips that I have ever had!

Nim and Chennga (Sorry, I misspelled the name) were both extremely hospitable and helpful. Nim, my tour guide was really great guy, very knowledgeable about all the history and cultural aspects.

We had a lot of talks sharing information about our culture and beliefs. Chennga, our driver and caretaker, was very very dependable and kind too.

I have some friends who might be interested to visit Bhutan, I will definitely recommend Druk Asia to my friends. And Nim definitely is highly recommended..

With Regards,

Eric

I made a last minute decision to visit Bhutan, a long time wish. Thanks to Sonam, who so efficiently and professionally handled my booking at short notice and answering my queries, and for the upgrade to business class - it was a pleasant surprise in the early am check-in :. Druk Asia even managed to get me choice accommodations given that it was last minute and peak season. I find that Druk Asia places the interest of the customers at heart and does it utmost to make the trip memorable. Indeed, it was.

The long drive, walks after walks (and climbs) in layered clothings were more than made up for by the experience, sceneries, pristine unhampered environment and most of all the people. The Bhutanese is one of the most sincere, genuine and friendly people I have met. The country turned up to be more modern that I expect, at the same time, the traditions and culture blended into their daily lives.

I was fortunate to have a peek into the local life - the archery competition, women building the houses in the traditional way, singing and dancing as they thumped the wood on the mud, the villagers on their way to get blessings from Je Khenpo on his annual winter retreat to Punakha. It was a pity that the Zorig Chusum was close to public due to examination; I would also have loved to meet and have more interactions with the locals.

Hope to be back again soon, this time to be able to catch the flowers, festivities and eastern side! And yes, improve my time up Taktsang!
